Description The paper focuses on teaching of scientific concepts of Czech language which are part of the prescribed curriculum of Czech language at lower secondary schools. The paper is based on qualitative research methodology. Contrary to the ideal of contextualization of the school knowledge, it problematizes the usage of pupils' everyday experience in teaching of scientific concepts because of its focus on content.
