Description The first who described the preparation technique of the face was Russian forensic doctor Medvedev (1). We modified his technique because the maxillo-facial part preparation of skull and reconstruction of the face are more efficient. The face is the most visible area on the postmortem body and because of this the preparation must show respect. Preparation of soft tissues begins by the common incision in interauricular line, which is connected with the collar incision. Soft tissues of the face are removed from the face skeleton to the lateral side. Then the supraciliary arches are uncovered, external auditory meatuses are cut, the eye bulbs are removed including the intraorbicular fat and the cartilage part of the nasal septum is cut. The reconstruction begins by sewing the internal lip and soft tissues are replaced to their anatomical position, for example a tissue glue can be used. Face dissection technique is very useful in the case of splanchnocranial fractures, revision of blood clots in soft tissues of the face, paranasal sinuses assessment and last but not least for the complete preparation of teeth.
