Description | The multimedia exhibition, which was launched by the artist Veronika Bromova and the artist and the curator of Galerie G99 Frantisek Kowolowski, charted ways of dealing with the topic of sexuality in artworks of young artists working with new media. Next to elements of man and woman, the new media played the important role at this exhibition. However, media have an unstable role here: while one uses them as a mean (tool for) of presenting his/her ideas, someone else sees the media as manipulator of the reality which creates new ideals of beauty and sexuality. The exhibition presented formally diverse works of known artists such as Radim Labuda, the winner of Jindrich Chalupecky Award, as well as artworks of young artists and students of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. During the exhibition, there were a number of diverse accompanying events such as concerts (4F, Burning Boy, MIKI discjockey, Fool DJ, DJ KrTTek and others), performance (Fillin Krug), and associated section "I want to be porn star!" The exhibition was organized by the defunct civic association Multimedialis (MMS) which was founded by students of the Theory of Interactive Media (namely Petra Skrivackova, Hana Plochova, Tomas Vagner, Tereza Kalabova) and student of the Combined Art Studies Tereza Javorska for purposes of this exhibition. |
