Description The article examines how the concepts of DACH and of pluricentrism, as two of the fundamental approaches to modern teaching of German as a foreign language, are implemented in the CEFR and in its German specification (Profile Deutsch), and whether, where and how they are taken into account and scaled. The analysis of the CEFR showed that a successful language teaching which according to the Council of Europe is aimed at the development of "multilingual and pluricultural skills" cannot be done for the German language without the implementation of the principles of DACH and pluricentrism.
