Description | Relations between François Mauriac (1885-1970) and Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) span more than half a century. Despite their total character differences (lifestyle, imaginary, literature universe etc.) and even if both sometimes violently clashed, they were met by the same sensitivity, the fragility of a tender and vulnerable soul. Each of them will always be linked to the territory of his childhood, the landscapes of his early experiences. We would stay in this area of the Madeleine and the Palais Royal, whose arcades, shadows, lights, and the ghosts of a rich past always keep traces of Jean Cocteau, we will try to reveal some secrets related to this place by through the novel the End of the Potomac and the poem Leone. The results of our researches we presented at a conference at the University of Malagar of 10 May 2013. |
