Description | The Municipal Estates House in Brno was developed on the gradual expansion of the municipal hall of justice in the former refectory of the Dominican monastery. In the times of Baroque a new entrance wing and a wing for court offices were built. These new buildings and his spaces were gradually decorated with frescos reflecting the specific function of the rooms. When interpreting the frescos we can start by looking for their central arguments: Virtute et Constantia -Allegory of the good rule, Pragmatic sanction as a guarantee of Moravias wealth - Fides Publica. |
