Description | This chapter focuses on issues of development of inclusive school and presents selected foreign theoretical studies dealing with school inclusive climate, inclusive teaching, heterogeneity in school and inclusive didactics. These studies are compared with the situation in the Czech Republic. This is followed by an example from a research project focusing on attitudes of school staff, teachers, special teachers, parents of children with disabilities and parents of children without disabilities towards inclusion of children with special education needs to mainstream schools. Even though there is a mutual consensus on the positive effect of inclusive education, this example shows noticeable contradictions between attitudes of the academia and practitioners. |
