Description | Bohemian garnet has been collected in the Czech lands since the Middle Ages. It was used as a part of goldsmith's products, especially of liturgical articles and jewels. In the first half of the 19th century, it was declared the mineralogical symbol of Bohemia and became a precious stone frequently used in burghers' jewels; necklaces with Bohemian garnets decorated even girls and women in the country. |
