| Description | This paper studies changes in the incidence of acidophilous, alkaliphilous and alkalibiont diatoms in the longitudinal profile of the Fryšávka stream in the Žďárské vrchy protected landscape area. Samples were collected six times during the vegetation season in 2005. Altogether 113 diatom taxa were recorded (18 acidophilous, 37 alkaliphilous and 10 alkalibiont diatom taxa). The spring of the Fryšávka stream differed from other sites of the longitudinal profile by higher abundances of acidophilous diatoms and a lower number and abundances of alkaliphilous and alkalibiontic diatoms. Changes in diatom community composition according to altitude, water temperature, pH and conductivity gradients are discussed. |
