| Description | The importance of proper nouns in literature for children and youth is reflected in their dominant position in titles of literary works. Proper nouns perform an identifying function in relation to both literary characters and the presupposed addressee. They participate in genre characterization having also an aesthetic function, mainly due to the expressiveness and language innovativeness of the used names, hypocorisms or nicknames. The associating function of proper nouns is performed the least in the prose with child protagonists. |
