Description | Freedom of speech constitutes basic element of democracy. Everybody is allowed to enter to public discourse with its own opinion in any kind of topic. As this freedom is closely connected to communication devices that they can be used for its exercising we can find significant changes in exercising freedom of speech in the digital age (during the Internet period). Besides advantages for the mentioned freedom, the Internet can be also abused. The contribution will analyze the cases of abusing the Internet by extremist groups e.g. to spread hate materials. The aim of the article is to focus on problems connected with breaking jurisdictions by using the Internet by extremists and problems concerning international cooperation in these situations. |
