Description This handbook presents the basic ideas which lead to a formulation of two influential concepts of generative grammar, the so-called lexicalist hypothesis and nonlexicalist hypothesis. The language data with which works generative grammar partly differ from those used by descriptive grammar. Thus, the main goal of this handbook is to provide students with analyses of empirical data on the Czech language relevant for generative grammar in a form of case studies.
