Description | The flexible flatfoot diagnosis in childhood belongs to the most frequent diagnosis of orthopedic and physiotherapist clinics. The aim of this research is to evaluate the influence of rehabilitation on the foot arch. The Emed platform was used for measurement of plantar pressure distribution and contact area. The static print of soles was made using the Podocam equipment. The research group consisted of four participants (aged 6,8 3,4 years) with the flat foot diagnosis. Statistical analysis of mean pressures found an increasing of thes pressures in the midfoot region after the rehabilitation. Similarly a significant decrease of contact area was found in the region of the midfoot. The Chippaus-Smirak index was used for footprint evaluation. After rehabilitation the index decreased in cases of all participants. These four case studies indicate the effects of rehabilitation on foot arch in childhood. |
