Description | This chapter contains case analyses of governance of key social services in Denmark. It highlights the restructuring and changes in the public/private mix in this country in last few years with a focus on the impact on employment. National data are used to supplement comparative data from the EU and OECD. There is a focus on social services especially (child care, elderly care and employment services). The three areas of social services were selected to reflect those which are widely used by different groups in society in order to achieve some complexity of the overview. The case study depict changes in the financing of welfare services such as the degree of user fees, the change in impact of insurance, development in employment and information on changes in governance: regulation, delivery and providers (that is public/private/non-government non-profit). |
