Description | Introduction: Therapy of phacolytic glaucoma is cataract extraction. Surgery is complicated by high intraocular pressure, low visibility of anterior capsule, hardness of nucleus and insufficient zonulae. Methods: 81 year old woman with high intraocular pressure in phacolytic glaucoma. Second eye was artephakic after surgery on another department. Results: we lower intraocular pressure by means of mannitol and applied 100 mg of corticosteroids. We made surgery the third day by manual microincision technique. After viscoexpression of nucleus and irrigation we implanted intraocular posterior chamber lens. Postoperative visus was 5/10 Conclusion: postponement of 2 days make time for decrease of intraocular pressure, inflammatory reaction and made treatment more comfortable. |
