| Description | The conference Metabolic syndrome-interdisciplinary problem was held on 18.9 -20.9. 2014 by Faculty of Sports Studies collaborating with Czech Society of Sports Medicine and Palacky University in Olomouc. The topic of Metabolic syndrome has an extensive consequences in medical, social or physical education sphere. The conference highlighted the interdisciplinary problem and pointed out the role of professionals in related sectors. The scientific topics included New trends in diagnostic and treatment of the metabolic syndrome, Predispositions and risk factors of the metabolic syndrome, Risk factors of physical activity connected with the metabolic syndrome, Intervention programmes in prevention and treatment of the metabolic syndrome, Obesity in childhood, The role of the teacher in prevention of the diseases of civilization and Student section. The conference was funded by EU project CZ.1.07/2.4.00/17.0039 called- Creation of a network of specialized institutions participating in the fight against the occurrence of the metabolic syndrome. The conference was also addressed to students of the Faculty of Sports Studies, who experienced the project internships in the cooperating institutions. |
