Description This paper is focused on the military intervention in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Russian troops entered Crimea and took control of the peninsula on the 3th of March 2014. This intervention is analyzed from the perspectives of international law and its principles embodied both in the UN Charter and the customary law. Article 2 of the UN Charter declares: “All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.” This paper deals with exceptions from this imperative.The paper deals with exceptions from this imperative.
