Description The forest has been an inspiration for many art works in the world of literature, fine art and music for centuries. It has also been a great inspiration for many garden art trends. However, the current interest is not focused on the study of the phenomenon of forest in aesthetics or in landscape architecture, which would be corresponding to its cultural importance. Therefore this article aims in the first part to summarize the current aesthetic interpretations of the phenomenon of forest and attempts to develop the theme towards game preserves and the phenomenon of keeping deer deliberately. Likewise, the landscape architecture, possessing proven methods and tools which serve to create better and more enjoyable living conditions, does not neglect the phenomenon of forest. This is one of the reasons why the second part of this article is devoted to uncovering and evaluating the landscape potential of forest and mostly the "gamekeeping grounds". It also describes the methods used in the layout reconstruction of several game preserves (e.g. the Old Game Preserve in Hluboká).
