Description The influence of natriuretic peptides on cardiovascular and renal system is a source of potentional possibilities of treatment of hypertension and heart failure. Synthetic natriuretic peptide neseritide showed a short time haemodynamic benefit, however the long time benefit and influence on renal functions was questionable.New hope in the treatment of chronic heart failure and hypertensive patients might be ularitid and new substance LCZ696 which is a dual inhibitor of neprilysin and angiotensin receptor. Clinical trials with these substances are ongoing.
