| Description | This paper introduces a concept cooperation of two institutions and their project: The Museology Section of the Department of Archaeology and Museology at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno, the project "Innovation of Archaeology and Museology Education for Practice in the Interdisciplinary and International Frame", and the Education centre of Brno City Museum and the project Edulab, i.e. education laboratory based on a direct collaboration with Masaryk University students, employing up-to-date trends of museum and gallery education in practice. This cooperation connects students whose fields of studies are often engaged in museum institutions (history of arts, history, archival science and archaeology, as well as museology, aesthetics, or pedagogy). Thanks to active participation, these students get familiar with the work of a museum educators. This cooperation helps students to gain competences necessary for understanding the methodology of education content in museum education. The students are potential expert workers of museums as well as cultural institutions in general, and this cooperation prepares them for collaboration with museum educators. Moreover, the students get basic knowledge of museum education practice which is beneficial for their potential career in public relations. |
