Description In recent years modern medicine has shown advance towards minimizing of invasive procedures in the diagnosis and therapy. Dermatology is no exception. Using principles of optical coherence to-mography (OCT) is one of non - invasive ways how to visualize the structure of the epidermis, junctional zone and papillary dermis. There are numerous studies available that are reporting about the application of the OCT in dermatology. This method is successfully used in diagnostics of epithelial skin tumors (e. g. basal cell carcinomas or actinic keratoses). The use of this method was also described in imaging of inflammatory and bullous dermatoses or parasitic skin diseases. Currently further studies are performed. Since summer 2013 we have opportunity to work with Skintell device that was lent us by Agfa Healthcare company. Skintell is a device which uses high definition optical coherence tomography (HD-OCT) to display the morphology of the skin up to the middermis. Skintell allows us to monitor changes in skin morphology and dynamics of their development.
