Description | The aim of the presentation was to highlight the reception of Quintilian´s XII books on rhetoric (Institutio Oratoria) in the volume of the Czech humanistic poet Michal Pěčka from Radostice "An Action and Dispute Between the Philosopher, In Medicine a Doctor and Orator or Procurator, Three Own Brothers…" from 1609. The presentation revealed the same as the different approaches of the both authors regarding the status and quality of speakers and suggested the ways the knowledge of classical literature permeated the Czech environment. |
