Description | Use of qualitative approach in various fields of science (psychology, pedagogy, sociology etc.) inevitably did not avoid the field of kinanthropology which in the framework of its multidisciplinary scope overlaps into the above mentioned social sciences. Commonly recommended is the use of combination of qualitative and quantitative methods in one research project (mixed research strategy) where the results obtained by both methods complement each other. The presented study text is divided into four parts. First two parts contain description of qualitative approach from its characteristics and qualities to four basic types of design (grounded theory, case study, ethnographic research and biographical research). Third and fourth parts concentrate on particular procedures explaining how to carry out the research (from the data collecting to its analysis) accompanied by presenting the most common mistakes e.g. in coding. Each chapter is followed by test questions which enable practicing of the acquired topic content. |
