| Description | Most people think that they are above average. This phenomenon is called Illusory Superiority. A specific form of Illusion Superiority is the Dunning-Kruger effect, which says that people overestimate their abilities in relation to their real skills. That means unskilled people more overestimate their abilities than skilled people. The second part of this phenomenon is that unskilled people are unaware of it. That means unskilled people doesn't change their metacognition about their skills even if they are confronted with reality. |
