Description | The present ESC/ESH and CSH guidelines on hypertension and combination therapy are presented. The most recommended combinations are renin angio-tensin blockade /ACE-I or sartan) plus CA blockade, RAAS blockade plus diuretics, and diuretics plus ca blockade. A combination of RAAS blockade plus diuretics or Ca blockade are the most frequent fixed combinations. The first fixed 3 combination Ca blockade (amlodipin), ACE-I (perindopril) and diuretics (indapamid) was registered on Czech market. A blood pressure decrease of 28,3/13,8 mmHg and good control of hypertension was shown in the PIANIST trial in 4 731 hypertensive patients. The main advantage of a fixed 3combination is a better compliance of the pa-tient and better hypertension control. The need is about for 30% hypertensive patients. |
