Description | The chapter, which presents Otakar Horký’s (1920, 1981) poetry, is a result of a longitudinal literary-historical research. Author’s promising work commenced in the mid-1950s and was violently brought to an end by a banishment in the period of normalisation. Horký’s work has only been available to a larger readership since the 1990s. It was published in 1999 in a presentable form of an extensive publication Sestřička Poezie thanks to the Culture Club in Uherské Hradiště. The editor of the book Jaroslav Zapletal included the collection Havraní stříbro and Stínokresby and poems from the author’s estate. The chapter outlines the development of the poet’s writing style from lyrical miniatures and longer lyric-epic compositions to minute ironic poems and aphorisms. The ambition of this paper is not only to characterise his poetry, but also to interpret and critically evaluate it. |
