Description In this article the author describes the last months of the WW2 in Europe and their political and military aspects, focusing especially on events which led to conquest of the capital of the German Third Reich - Berlin. This city has represented a potential reason for struggle and discord between Soviet Union on the one side, and USA and Great Britain on the other. But the Allies gave Berlin over to Stalin at the conference of Yalta, and Soviet dictator subsequently unleashed hard contest among his own high military commanders concerning its final capture.
