| Description | Present article gives an overview of directions of research on Falcidian portion (quarta Falcidia). First, it gives insight into legal regulation in ancient Rome (lex Falcidia de legatis, calculation of Falcidian portion, its further development and application on other institutes of succession mortis causa). Subsequently it deals with reception of Falcidian portion after the end of Western Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire, Germany, Switzerland, England, Catalonia), including the territories of present-day Czech Republic (Austrian ABGB and its drafts, civil codes from years 1950, 1964 and 2012). |
