Description | A consideration of risk and trust enables us to imagine the creative environment of film production as multi-dimensional and multidirectional. This approach allows not to restrict ourselves to a hierarchical relationship between administrative bodies and subordinate creative personnel, but rather recognize a horizontal axis characterized by business partners and ideological allies. We may consider this relationship both in top-down fashion – from centralized managerial power toward practitioners – and in bottom-up fashion, insofar as power is directed from dramaturgical groups toward functionaries. But instead of a detailed explication of this conceptual background, the lecture will rather illustrate the role of "institutional trust" for co-productions on a few telling examples from the 1960s and 1970s. |
