| Description | The publication Venkovský obchod Moravy a Slezska (Trade in Rural Environment in Moravia and Silesia)submits a coherent view of the basic ways of retail transactions that can be reconstructed based on available sources for the period from the 18th until the first half of the 20th century. The work interconnects the methods of economic and social history with the methods of economic ethnology. The author explored a plenty of archive documents, travellers´ and publicists´ contemporary reports as well as eyewitness´ memories and other ethnological sources. The book attempts to introduce the rural-area trade as a complex system where – on the local and regional level – the social and cultural factors play as important role as the economic functions do. |
