Description | This paper contributes to the discussion on journalism education with empirically based knowledge of the professional socialization of future journalists from a comparative perspective. More specifically, it describes and analyzes university journalism students in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Sweden (in each country, two universities were selected). It focuses on journalism student culture: their motivations, perception of professional roles, and views on journalism ethics. A survey of journalism students from selected universities was used as the method of data collection. In accordance with previous studies, the results indicate the lack of radical differences among journalism student cultures analyzed here. |
