Description | On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II, Faculty of Arts Masaryk University organised an exhibition of satirical anti-war montages by German photographer and graphic John Heartfield – Against War! The photographs, lent to the faculty by the Museum of Brno, were exhibited in the form of facsimiles in a place where there is a plaque commemorating war victims from academic community. The exhibition was accompanied by lecture of Professor Jindřich Toman from University of Michigan (USA) Photomontage, Caricature, Heartfield. Both, the exhibition and the lecture, were included into the Year of Reconciliation project of city of Brno, which was jointly presented an event organized by the city to commemorate the victims of Brno from the years 1939-1945. |
