Description | The robot—the dramatic character —appeared on the theatrical stage for the first time in the play R.U.R., Rossum’s Universal Robots by Karel Čapek in 1921. Since then, the play has been staged in rapid succession on theatrical stages worldwide. Jana Horaková will present an overview of various representations of the robot on the theatrical stages of the 20th and 21st centuries. The metamorphosis of the robot in visualizations and semantics during this period will be illustrated through photographs and videos of performances. |
