| Description | The intention of German government to impose motorway charges for passenger cars while reducing vehicle ownership tax so that in reality the imposition of the charges only affects other than German nationals raised doubts whether it is or is not contrary to European Union law. The aim of this article is to evaluate the compliance of this legislation with EU law, specifically with the principle of non-discrimination on grounds of nationality. |
