Description | Grounded theory method (GTM) is one of the most common approaches in qualitative analysis. Over the fifty years of its existence, it has evolved into several epistemologically and technically different approaches. The workshop will introduce participants to the main approaches in GTM (Glaser, Strauss, Charmaz, Rennie). Several examples of the use of GTM in psychotherapy research will be shown. Together, we will discuss the boundary between GTM and other qualitative methods, the strengths and limitations of different ways of using GTM, as well as good practice. The workshop expects participants’ elementary knowledge of GTM and welcomes especially participants with personal experience of GTM application. |
