Description | In my presentation, I am going to elaborate three interrelated approaches to options of and obstacles towards better provision of the rights and needs of those who are at high risk of being placed into closed institutions: • All the necessary institutions and procedures that need to be in place for sustainable development of the alternatives, which are currently missing (and this probably accounts for our “blindness”) and the importance of understanding the consequences • How is the conversion of previously established procedures and practices carried out? • What happens with new alternatives to residential care? How are they built into existing ‘landscape’ of practices and procedures? Do they mutate under the pressure of inefficient policy making and how does that happen? |
