Description | The article reflects current educational practice in mainstream schools, where pupils with different educational needs and different levels of mathematical ability come together in classrooms. It offers mathematical learning tasks of the default minimum or optimum level of difficulty focusing on the "average" pupil forming the basis for tasks of higher cognitive complexity designed for gifted pupils in Mathematics.
