Description | The paper dealt with the problems and specifics pertaining to the data collecting for the Computerized Historical Linguistic Database of the Latin Inscriptions of the Imperial Age (see http://lldb.elte.hu/team.php), the project run by the Research Institute for Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Latin Department of the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. The paper focused on the selected data forms from the corpus Inscriptions latines de l'Algerie (mostly funerary inscriptions), while consulting also other corpora (CIL, CLE) when necessary. The selected data forms (LLDB-41081; LLDB-38220, LLDB-38217; LLDB-41022, LLDB-38388) display the problems related to data collecting and contain several phenomena typical of Vulgar Latin: Latin nomenclature (Fausinus/Faustillus), contraction of vowels (ii), confusion of cases (nom./acc. pro abl.), vocalic changes (o/u, i/e), confusion of decesions (decl. IV pro decl. II), and consonantal changes (omission of final –m). |
