Description Introduction: Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) represent a heterogeneous group of less common malignant tumours of different localizations with strong tendency to metastasize. Due the dominant haematogenous pathway of the dissemination, the lung parenchyma is the most common site of implantation of the circulating tumour cells of the STS. At the time of diagnosis the sarcoma as the primary tumour, more than 30% of patients are diagnosed with synchronous lung metastasis. We present the results of retrospective analysis of pulmonary metastasectomy for soft tissue sarcoma metastasis at the 1st Department of Surgery of St. Anne's hospital in the interval of 24 months. Material and methods: In the period of 24 months (6/2013 - 6/2015), 9 patients underwent lung metastasectomy for pulmonary metastases of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) at our department. Data was evaluated retrospectively and the patients were not randomized. The indications to perform lung metastasectomy at our department are in accordance with the general indication criteria to perform lung metastasectomy published by European society of thoracic surgeons (ESTS) based on recommendations from the International Registry of lung metastases (IRLM).
