| Description | The study presents the main results of the empirical quantitative research in the ?eld of consumer behaviour of seniors with a focus on its risk and discriminatory aspects (participation in the product demonstration and sale events and experience with discriminatory practices). The area of consumer behaviour is studied from the perspective of constructivist theories of aging and old age with an emphasis on the mutual relation-ship of cultural and material consumption. The aim of the text is to explore some of the speci?cs of older consumers in terms of the strati?cation theory on the basis of the results of survey “Consumption and consumers in higher age” conducted by the Research Institute of Labour and Social Affairs at the end of the year 2011 (N = 1,443, population 40+). |
