Description | Direct ophthalmoscopy is still an essential tool for retinal and intraocular assessment in the domiciliary setting and for those patients where indirect techniques prove a challenge. The view of the tissue to be observed is very much influenced by the pupil characteristics of the patient, the clarity of the media of the patient, the viewing distance and the brightness, diameter, focus and wavelength of the incident light used. |
