Description Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) is a small population of leukocytes. They play important roles as antigen presenting cells in healthy organisms and thanks to their production of type I interferon they activate other cells of immune system to fight against tumour cells. Multiple Myeloma (MM) is a B cell malignancy that can be found in patients around 65 years old. Plasma cells are clonally expanded and they produce pathological immunoglobulin (paraprotein). PDCs support proliferation of myeloma cells and cause resistance against myeloma treatment.
