Description This contribution presents a dissertation project which deals with the immigrant children adaptation into schools. Adaptation is mostly viewed as a lineral process in literature and researches concerning only the child and parents. But I think of adaptation as of the complex triangulation process that includes variables related to the child, family and school (as well as author Garcia and Brizuela Sellers, 1999), which is embedded in a larger social, cultural and political context. The aim is to analyze and characterize the current state of immigrant children adaptation in the Czech and Norwegian schools and describe the role of its key players in this process. Research design is a comparative case study using document analysis and semi-structured interviews with teachers, immigrant children and their parents.
