| Description | Miroslav Holub (1923-1998) was a Czech poet, a story-writer, a translator, and a publicist, but a scientist-imunologist, too. His first poems were a part of so-called "poetry of everyday life", and elements of this principal can be found throughout his bibliography. Holub became one of the most translated Czech authors of the 20th Century. Even though his successes in foreign countries - especially in Britain and the USA - he was forsaken by some people at his homecountry in the nineties. Therefore this study aims to describe possible reasons of this dual reception of his work and the dissimilar representation of Holub in Czech and foreign media. |
