Description | The Communist coup d'état opened a new chapter of upbringing and educating children in Czechoslovakia. Inspiration from the Soviet pedagogy was not only reflected in the reorganization of the Czechoslovak education and in changes of educational strategies, but also in new organizations that were established in order to participate in the upbringing of children. The Pioneer Organization, whose scope for action became school after initial ambiguities, belongs to those organizations. Nevertheless, the enforcement of the educational potential of the Pioneer Organization was not without difficulties and its success often depended on the acceptance level of Soviet methodological propositions and on more or less apparent interventions of the Communist Party. |
