Description | In this work the author discusses in great detail the novel-computer game Quest by Boris Akunin. The novel is analysed from the aspects of its genre, structure, syuzhet, narrative functions and style. The work deals with the phenomenon of the style of a novel-computer game in great depth. The author presents the specific features of a novel built up on the borders of two artistic forms. The author also describes the main characters of the novel and concentrates on the elements highlighting their similarities to computer game heroes. Additionally, the author includes a short historical section on the game tradition in literature, beginning with Jorge Luis Borges and finishing with examples from Russian literature, such as Dmitry Braslavsky and so on. |
