Description | The apocalyptic theme, especially in the cycle of Soifs, is not an isolated phenomenon in the current literary landscape. Let us recall the names of Jocelyne Saucier, Nicolas Dickner, Gaétan Soucy or Michel Tremblay and the critics devoted to their works. However, the apocalyptic imagination of Marie-Claire Blais is distinguished by its insistence, its intensity and its half narrative, half lyric modulation. It is not limited to thematic display, but works on several levels. Our study proposes to analyze the construction of the apocalyptic universe of the cycle Soifs: character configuration, dynamic narration, recurring themes, elements of the imaginary, construction of lyrical emotion. The analysis will try to link the elements of the analysis with the writer's context, to establish links between her innovative writing and the antecedents in her early works by examining the factors of continuity and discontinuity. |
