Description | Philips pavilion at EXPO 1958 in Brussels was a brilliant parallel to the Czech Laterna Magica. The building constructed on the basis of the musical score included film screenings and light together with dynamic 3D sound composition Poéme électronique. This milestone was a visionary multimedia artwork of Le Corbusier, Iannis Xenakis and pioneer of electroacoustic music, Edgard Varése. The lecture will attempt to explain not only technical, but mainly aesthetic and philosophical background of this extraordinary collective work. |
