Description | Antoine de Fevin belongs to less known composers of the 3rd generation of Franco-Flemish Renaissance polyphony. Two masses by Antoine de Fevin (Missa Ave Maria, Missa Helas ye suis mari) are also found in the recently discovered Brno manuscript BAM1 (City of Brno Archives, Collection of manuscripts, sig. 15/4), dated 1550 and connected with musical productions in the parish church St. James in Brno. In this presentation, it will provide important information on these two masses by Antoine de Fevin from the Brno manuscript BAM1 together with samples of how the composer worked with the music using the parody technique. |
