Description | This paper outline a constructivist perspective on school readiness. I will focus on the following questions: What does it mean to be “ready” and “not ready” from the constructivist perspective? What a constructivist psychologist should consider when assessing child’s school readiness? In my view, answers to these questions follow from Piaget’s constructivist theory, Montessori education, and personal construct approach to education. It will illustrate the difference between the traditional and constructivist view on school readiness by case examples. |
